trying to change my drag link and the joint at the pitman arm will come off but not the other joint. (the one that goes to the drivers side tie rod) any ideas on how to pop it off? i already tried a hook ***** thingy, like a pully puller and it couldnt get a grip because its round.

rehook up the pitman arm joint and shock or hit the joint with a hammer a couple of times to pop the balljoint out of it's hole. hit it on the side of the hole not on the ball joint. that is how i did mine took a few tries. don't forget to get an alignment asap so u dont' wear out your tires

Theres a tool for this, Its a ball joint seperator, look like a pickle fork. they are very cheap. If you have air tools you can even get one for an air hammer.

i ended up having to replace the inner and outer tie rods as well, the inner tie rod was rusted to the drag link so i just replaced the whole thing. i highly recomend the drag link from JBG much thicker and heavier than the OEM one. thanks for the help.

Just for future reference you can add pressure on the tie rod bolt like a jack and then hit the side to shock it out.

I found that the knuckles are tuff to get out so a jack sitting verticle pressing on the frame will add pressure and then smack the side of the knuckle, not the tie rod. In your case I think you have to hit the tie rod cause the drag link installs into the pass tie rod. If you ever have to hit the tie rod bolt make sure to pull the castle nut off and reverse it backwards so you don't mushroom the castles.
