So I was working on my 93xlt and I set my light on the distributor which was loose (I recently bought it and am working through the truck to fix things like that) and the truck started to turn over. Any ideas on why?

So when you hooked up the test light the engine started to turn over?

So like when you clamped the power supply cables to the battery? Or where did you clamp them?

Or when you put the inductive clamp on the plug wire? Or is it not inductive and you tapped the coil wire on the coil?

Either way sounds like you completed the circuit and energized the start solenoid. probably better find a wiring diagram and start chasing the starter circuit wires.

This has to be a joke.
I shine a flashlight on my engine, and it never starts to turn over.
