my roommate's dad is a huge ford guy and literally has tons of stuff just laying around ... well in his room of engines, he has a 6.9L international diesel ... anyone ever heard of someone like me (dumb and curious) trying this or is it even feasible etc etc? i'm an engineering student :-B and personally i think this would be sweet just to try, but that's just me ... anyways, anyone who wants to throw their 2 cents is welcome ... just curious and we have the shop room, lifts, and any other tools necessary to do stuff

From what I recall, it takes some beefing up of the front suspension due to the weight of the engine but doable. Someone put in a Cummings. Most anytyhing is possible provided you have the tanasity. Go for it.

good luck,

Send a PM to Wliebhard. He is the guy that did the Cummings conversion. I'm sure he could give you a lot of information.

there's a fella on FSB who swapped in a 6.9 into his bronco. not sure how he solved the front susp, but you could probably get away with 2" leveling coils for a stock suspension
