I picked up an electric w/s wiper assy to switch out my vac ones. I was under the impression the electric would just slip into place. Not quite. Obviously, the distance for the wiper shafts are closer for the electric linkage. I found a drawing in Auto Krafters catalog, which hopefully shows the linkage in the stopped position. Eyeballing the assembly in mine, I guess I could 1) Drill 2 new holes the correct distance apart. 2) Drill out the driver's side, where it is, to accept the new wiper shaft & drill a completely new hole the correct distance on the passenger's side. 3) Cut the main linkage rod & splice in a piece of metal to extand it to the correct length & mount the wiper shafts thru the existing holes after drilling them out to fit, of course. Any advice or suggestions, I'm wide open! Thanks!

I drilled mine out on the driverside and made a new hole for the pass side.

At first I used some cheap electrics, what a mistake, on the freeway they can't move. Its rather funny, they got stuck upwards past where they normally sit at rest. They were both out of time with each other and made driving tough in the rain. I then changed them out with a simular set that are used in Commercial airplanes. My buddy chopps them up after they are out of commission (recycles the alum) and I get some parts here and there. I assume the heavy duty motors can be found but I've never looked.
