Well, now i have seen it all. check out this "modification" i discovered when replacing the exhaust manifold on my '90 Bronco.



I gotta say that i love the things i am finding on this beast and the dude i bought it from was far from a mechanic. when i was removing the bolts (and studs...they came off when the breaker bar convinced things to turn), I kept feeling something in the way of the small bolt in the back and wouldnt you know it was a spark plug. I have pics of the old and new and the new one has a threaded plug in it.



So what goes in there? I have 02 sensors on the pipes so that eliminates that but it has to have a purpose. Any assistance (or comments) are welcome.

I do believe that was the location for the O2 at one time for some of the older configurations. http://broncograveya...-w-o2-hole.html http://broncograveya...-w-o2-hole.html . I'm guessing he used a spark plug to plug the hole /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Thanks fellas for the quick responses...i kinda figured that was what they were for. One less thing to deal with I guess. This puppy leaked like crazy till it got replaced so I would venture to say that a spark plug might not be the best cap to use for any kind of leak.
