I have been wanting to change my three belt 86 Ford Bronco into a one belt serpentine system lik/e my old 89 Bronco. Can I just go to a junk yard and swap out pulleys or is it more difficult, not possible, or just not worth the trouble?

It's deffinatly difficult but doable. If you're willing to do the junkyard style, you'll need the left and right side brakets and if you have A/C you'll have to recharge it. If you get both brackets and assosiated accesories along with the ribbed pully for the crank then it shouldn't be to bad. However, as long as the accesories are all compatible with your truck. Basicaly, pick what years you want for the serpentine, 87-91 or 92-96 (I think thoes are right years?) and get all the brakets and accessories and put them on your truck.

Why do you want to do this what will it gain you Smog pump, alternator, power steering, cam pulley, idle pulley, water pump and tensioner must all be replaced why. spend your money elsewhere.

It is doable but a lot of work, but I personally prefer V-belt. The reason is that if one brakes you do not lose total function. I'd spend the money on upgrading the electrical system with a 3G alternator, upgrading the head light harness, etc.

Any way it's your truck so if that is what you want to do, go for it.

Good luck,

:)>-
