My bronco has a f**ked up edelbrock carb on it, i wanna replace it with a new one. I was wondering if i can mount a square bore carb on the stock intake with out a spacer?

The only thing you may have a problem with is the Heat Control Valve on the driver side of the intake manifold, with some carbs it is in the way of the linkage. I have a 4160 Holley on mine and it fits with no problem, I did leave the old EGR plate on it though to cover the EGR gas hole on the passenger side, but I believe you can get a spacer that blocks that from Edelbrock.

A picture of what I'm talking about.

Good luck,

:)>-

As a road carb, it has performed extremely well. However, if you plan on Off Road with extreme angles, Holleys have a reputation of flooding out or starving the engine. You can get a kit to prevent that and they now make the Truck Avenger which comes with the trail bells and whistles already installed. Out of the box they run just a little rich, but that is by design since they are at their best with your foot in it. The Off Roading for this truck has been as a beach vehicle. I have used it Off Road for getting to construction sites, with no problems, but that is up and down hills and through the woods on rough cut roads. None of it with the demands of a serious trail challenge where you are hanging on by your front tires or just about at the point of rolling over.

Good luck,

:)>-

Oh yah, the 4160 needs a kit added to hook up the kick down rod.

alright cool i think this carb will do pretty good for what i plan to do with it. Im not really building the truck to be extreme i just want a decent trail truck, i also plan on sellin it this summer once i get some money put in it.

Oh yea i was wondering if the spring loaded needle seats will go in the non ajustable float version of the 4160?
