I was reading Petterson's 4Wheel the other day (or rereading) and they were going through the list of the "10 best xfer cases of all time." The BW1356 happened to fall in there, with it's light weight and pretty decent ratio. The only downside, they said, was that the internal oil pump could jar loose and fail to send oil, basicly blowing it up. BUT there is a redeming quality: it can be solved beforehand by running a sheetmetal ***** into the pump through the case wall. Anyone do this, and is it worth it? I don't have the time or money to upgrade to anything else just yet, so I'd like to make what I have as bulletproof as posible. And, knock on wood, the BW1356 has served me well.
