i have a 89 bronco 351W...ok thats great...but what i have in mind for it may cause jaws to drop...its stock right now...just a K&N filter...and bosch plugs...big deal...anyways, i WILL sooner or later be getting a skyjacker 8" suspension lift...likely when i get my next signing bonus in october. (im in the army) lots of work i know. i know. lots of parts too. im aware of this. i have nothing but time and money. i also want a 3-4" body lift. and after that. then ill figure out what tires i want to run. and purchase the right axle setup depending on the tires. i know its gonna be alot of parts, money and labor. but i got the money, i have nothing but time, and my money will acquire the parts. i joined the army as a motor transport operator. (truck driver) for few reasons. to get my truck, and the college money. its a little sad. but i grew up around huge trucks. i love them and want one of my own.

any suggestions or comments would be appreciated

thanx

if you're going with 8 inch suspension lift i would not suggest 3-4 inch body lift...that can cause it to be unstable...at most i'd suggest going with a 2 inch...you should be able to clear 40's with that 38's at the smallest...now running that size tire if you plan to do a lot of mudding/rock crawling i would suggest dana 60's as rears unless you want to put a lot of money into a dana 44 putting the best axles in it etc. good luck with it though....also if you have a lot of time and money why not just do dana 60's with leaf spring front...you can go as high as you want then

Careful with you monies no object plans, Get carried away and you will have a 250,000.00 rig sitting there. Sit down map out everything you want and where the money will come from. Just because you have the money doesnt mean you should be careless with it and waste most of it. Ask a ton of questions and learn from other peoples mistakes. 8 inch lift is pretty high for TTB, you would save a ton of cash and headaches to do a SAS right off the bat. Goodluck, all the info is there just do some research. Also a 4 inch body lift is very questionable. I would seriously advise against that. Also remember that a Bronco has a short wheel base, the higher you go the steeper the driveshaft angle. You will be destroying u-joints everyday, so with all your new found cash maybe invest in spares. I would get ahold of highangle driveline and get a couple driveshafts built for your application. Goodluck

i was looking at the solid axle conversion kit at jeffsbroncograveyard.com but i really wouldn't want coil sprung if im dropping all that money into it. if anybody knows of a site, or any way to custom make a leaf sprung front end...please let me know. that was my first decision. lol. probably many more changes in mind. but anyways. that is what i would prefer. i hate the whole TTB setup. and coil springs in general.

this forum is awsome. so many people that know so many things. and its all about the bronco. gotta love it.

Ford F-350's have straight axles up front with leaf springs. I would aquire that from a scrap yard. Take all the brackets and everything. You can easily fab up a front cross member with built in leaf spring shackles. That would be the cheapest and in my opinion smartest way to do it. Leaf springs are way easier to lift as an added bonus
