in my opinion...its seems to me that in offroading i would rather keep both hands on the wheel and let the tranny worry about shifting than myself, but thats just me

The choice of manual or auto is completely up to you. It all depends on how good you are offroad and driving a manual. Sometimes its too much hassle.

Well,

I've said it B/4.....I've had both, & a "stick" is "way more" fun on the trail than the auto.

It keeps one involved, decisions to be made, & a choice of gearing at any given time.

With the auto,...I felt I was just along for the ride. (I even had the auto/stick shift shifter & that wasn't any better)

Pro rockers seem to prefer the auto for their stop-n-go tricks.

I would have to say that it is up to you and what you feel like driving. I have an auto but would rather have a manual. First thing, when you're off the trail the fuel economy goes up (not to say that's why I have a Bronco) and I like the feel of the control that you get with the manual, putting it in whatever gear you belive will benefit you the most. :)>-
