another 86 Bronco 2 auto tranny issue

I just bought my bronco and a week after buying it i was driving down the road and came to a stop at a stop sign. everything was working fine, and when it came time to go again i had no gears at all.... it didnt make any banging or grinding noises or anything and wasnt slipping between gears at all before this happened, but now it acts like its in neutral all the time with the exception of park. I have been trying to do a little research on it and im finding that many people are suggesting that replacing the transmission modulator and changing the filter/fluid may fix the problem? I still haven't found a post saying if this will has been successful? Any other suggestions besides this before i throw down the big bucks for a rebuild?

have you checked your tranny fluid? I mean after this happened

Yeah, its still full, and its kinda dirty, but definatly not burnt. Really it doesnt look or smell unusual at all. Thats one of the reasons im so confused about it. :huh:

a buddy of mine who had one had a trans linkage issue, but i doubt thats your problem, thats an odd issue
