Hello all! $-)

I recently came across this community and thought I'd add my first post.

First off I've had my '95 XLT for about six months now and I love it. It's a great truck.

My question:

I have been looking for a cargo cover for the back of the cab but have been unable to locate one. I see that there are grooves along the sides of the cargo area for what I assume is to hold a retractable cover.

Would anyone know where i might find a used original or perhaps even a reproduction? I've searched around but to no avail.

I thought about possibly building something similar, but i haven't really gotten around to it. I wonder if there are any plans floating around that I could use as a guide?

Living in LA I just don't feel comfortable leaving my golf clubs in plain view even for short periods of time.

Also, I'd like to possibly mount a lockable steel toolbox in the back of the truck for misc. storage. Any ideas on a set-up that looks nice, is secure and relatively easy to install?

Thanks for your time!

Regards,

Jason

Yea, I've been looking myself for a lockable storage box. I've just decided to get an old military metal footlocker or equal, preferably weatherproof and with it's own lock, and drill 4 holes in the bottom of it in each corner. Then, with some grade 8 bolts, just attach it to the back behind the rear seat.

Yeah, a military metal footlocker would do the trick.

I was also looking at one of these.

yo

the cover is Ford PN F4TZ9845440AAD

in 2006 I contacted ford-parts.com who had it listed (& WAS THE ONLY WWW SEARCH HIT for the PN) , but they said they do not have them in stock.

here is a basic diagram;

http://www.parts.com/partlocator/index.cfm...amp;catalogid=2

btw, you also will need the track assy

could make one out of the material used to cover green houses, etc...http://www.backyardcity.com/shade/cloth/Coolaroo-Shade-Cloth.htm

or a fabric/vinyl from wally mart and diy as you wrote
