I need some major help here. I bought my daughter a really nice EB series BII for her 16th birthday. The truck only has 79K original miles on it, and has been setting for just over 10 years. The reason it was parked was because the man I got it from bought it new for his son to drive to school. When his son graduated, the fuel pumps went bad. He bought his son another truck to drive, and parked the Bronco. I had to replace the fuel tank, the pumps, the sending unit and the fuel filter, along with the plugs, wires, Dis. cap and button. The truck started and ran fine, but when it reached normal operating temp, it would not start back up again until it cooled off. After talking with several people, I replaced the Ig. module. This had no effect. I talked with others, and they suggested to replace the temp. sending unit. I do that also, and same result. Then I was told that the Dist. would cause this problem, so I replaced the Dis. with a remanned unit and also the MAP sensor. This is where I think I really made things worse. Now, the issue that I'm seeing, along with it still not starting back up when it reaches operating temp, is that fuel is being dumped into all 6 cyl. I took the spark plugs out and removed the fuel pump relay and turned the engine over and it blew fuel out of all 6 cyl. The plugs were fouled bad. I bought new plugs and tried it again. This time, it did infact crank and ran rough. I rechecked the timing, and it is set to 10 degrees BTDC. It ran rough, and the dark smoke was pouring out of it. After running it at high RPM's, the engine finally cleaned itself up and stopped smoking as bad. I could tell that it was definately getting to much fuel by the smell alone. I then replaced the fuel pressure regulator, and this did not help as well. I still have the same issues. It was not dumping fuel into the cyl. before I changed the Dist. I am at a complete loss now as to where to go. I did talk to one individual and he asked me if I took the neg. terminal off the battery before I changed the dist. and I did not. I'm just wondering at this point if I need to do so to reset the computer. This thing is supposed to be my daughter's first vehicle, and I need it to be right before I turn it over to her. I need some help with this one, and any and all information will be very greatly appericated. Thank all of you in advance.
