79 Bronco Headers?

Hello,

Well I'll start off that i have a 79 Bronco with 351 Modified. It has the dual shock mounts in the front. The problem I'm having is that i can not find a set of headers that says it will fit this truck with the dual shock mount. I checked Bronco Graveyard and some say wont fit with dual shock mounts and the others say nothing. I wanted to upgrade to Headers because my pass side exhaust manifold is cracked any way. Any info on headers for My truck would be greatly appreciated!

Well as far as I know with these trucks,It shouldnt matter if you have the quad set up or not.The headers go nowhere near that front mount.They either have the 1st two tubes going under the frame mount for the engine mounts while the rear 2 go behind the frame mount and all 4 meet at the collector..Or theres the ones that all 4 tubes go on top of the frame mount.Or 1 more,,,The fender well headers that come out behind the shock mount behind the coil over the frame and exit under your first cab mount..Either way all the headers go towards the rear obviously. Hey thank you muddrivermike. I know it was kinda dumb to ask that question anyway it was just when i saw that statement about the quad shock set up i wasn't sure. Thank you for your help and everything i'm gonna order the Set of headers this week!

No problem. Thats what Im going to have eventually do is order new ones.I already have the pass collector falling apart. But being as I have a 460 sitting on the engine stand waiting to be built, Im not going to order a new set for the 351m. And to let you know if you go with Just the black high temp painted headers,After you run it,All that black coating is going to burn off and not too long after is when they will begin to rust. If you have the extra money get the kind that is coated. For some reason I cant seem to find the good headers that used to come stainless steel,Which never rusted and only turned a blueish color at the manifold.Every set over the years I bought the cheap painted ones and they didnt last that long.It really ****** me off.So think about how long you want them to last.Good Luck

Alright cool i was going to ask how the painted ones are cuz i have seen them rust awayy on a few of my buddies trucks. i was leaning towards this set i found on Summit. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/HED-89218/ what you think?

They look pretty good and they have the ball ****** collector which uses no gasket and seals better.Thats what most of the header companies are going to now.I had a set with the ball and they worked real well.Even if the pipe moved it still sealed

my headers on 78, 400 motor will not seal good, I have tried new gaskets, the red header gasket sealer. Dont know what is next, wont stop ticking under load. I have alum pipes that go all of the way out from the headers. Would like maybe set of man, but dont know. Any help would be great.

i found a set i think it was heddman...not sure...but they go out the fender well which means some cut work but i do know there aint many options
