I recently changed the sending unit in the rear tank of my 74 because the feed pipe was leaking. The new unit no longer leaks but the gauge pins to the full extreme. The old unit gave the correct level so I assume the wiring to be OK. The new unit came from JBG. Am I missing something?

Hindsite...,

It's poss. to "re-solder" that tube & get a good seal.

A full scale reading means there's a dead short.

Re-hook your plug back on the old sender.....operate by hand & see if it still gives various (correct) readings on the guage.

If so..., you need to remove the new sender & test the same way.

These units are a bit delicate.., so handle with care...... B)
