I'm trying to help my friend find this part for his 73 Early Bronco with 302 engine. The part is called either a water intake elbow or a heater hose fitting, depending on who you ask. The part I am finding on all of the ford replacement part websites is not quite the same. The original part number is E0UZ-18599-A. It is not squared off at the end, it is curved. It also has a threaded port on the side about mide shaft to ***** in a connector that hooks up to the vacuum lines. Most of the others I am finding does not have this feature, but simply an intake and output. Any leads would be appreciated.

Are you asking about the hose fitting on the intake??

If so, the reason you are not finding the part could be because you are looking for the wrong year of 302 fitting...

The part number breaks down to a year using the first two digits of the part number...

"C" as a first letter designates 1960

"D" is 1970

"E" is 1980

The second digit (in your case) "0" is the actual year it was designed for

E0 would be 1980

E1 would be 1981

E2 would be 1982. Hope that helps in your search....

Is this the part you are looking for? If so it is the water neck and also contains the tstat.

Good luck,

:)>-

Hi There,

Take a look at the exploded view you sent me and where I put the red arrow. This is the part we are finding, but the part on his 73 Bronco 5.0L with 302 is the part in the picture I inset. As you can see, it has (in the black square), and extra appendage for the part the vacuum lines fit into. I'm just a chick who likes to look shit up on the internet, so I know nothing about Bronco's or much more about car parts. He tells me that the part is not original because of some kind of smog related issues. This part is actually what was common on 1980 Econoline's. That's why the part number is 1980. The base number is 18599, but I'm not finding it anywhere. Any ideas?

The part number your looking for is 9D473, but that part only came on 1975 and up, it's part of the emissions crap and you shouldn't need it, nor is it required by law on a 73. I bet he has a later model engine in there.

He's actually looking for the 18599 that has the threads on the side of it to ***** in the 9D473. Can't find it anywhere. What model and year is this diagram for? He says it's a 73 with a 302, but I'll double check tomorrow.

Good luck with that part, I wanted to replace my rusty one while rebuilding the engine, I couldn't find one at any of the parts houses, so I just sand blasted and painted it. If he's replacing it because it has a hole in it, then try a threaded ****** in the plumbing section of home depot. The digram is for a 75. Here is a link to some great info.

Hey check this out...I found a diagram for a 83 Bronco with 4.9L and the "hot water elbow" #42 in diagram is the exact part he's looking for. Hmmm

Well, I'll share all of this tomorrow.

Thanks a bunch,

Ape Crazy
