Hi Ray., welcome..!
Congrats to your son..!!! Many yrs. on fun & learning there.!
HOWEVER., I think you mean 6 cyl. And., oddly., the auto trans doesn't work well with the I-6../emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />
You might find some parts in a bone-yard fr. a Pinto, Falcon, Fairlane, or Mavrick or some other old ford vehicles.
The prob. is., the auto robs a lot of power fr. the I-6 & the cost would be way out there.!
You would need the bellhousing, torque converter, flywheel, starter, trannie, & T-case adaptor. Plus a bunch of misc. parts, like a floor shifter. Also, likely need some re-engineering -- like the T-case mount/cross bar.
--not an easy task--
You could, for now, move the shifter to the floor as it's much better & very dependable...& not expensive.
If an auto is a must..., it's likely cheaper to drop-in a V8/C-4 with all the goodies. >< <'>
--OR--
If it is a 4 cyl. RU sure it's not an International "Scout" ..?![]()
Three on the floor is alot easyer too learn on then the tree!!Yeah, my mistake. I was thinking of the old jeep when I typed 4 cylinder. Definitely 6.
Thanks for the info
Ray
