68 bronco intake swap

i have swapped the intake manifold on my 68 bronco from the 2 barrel to a edel brock performer. the problem is the throttle linkage will not bolt up to the new intake what kind of fixes have you done to fix this problem. also is there a cable kit to switch from the linkage to a cable setup.

Are you saying you can't connect the stock throttle cable to the new carb? Sometimes you have to drill out where the linkage connects to the throttle to you can attacheh the correct linkage so it works with your setup. I had to drill out the ball socket type that was on my new carb and used the old one off my other carb.

If you are talking where the cable bolts down to the intake and no bolt holes align then make a new mounting plate.

Mine just has a rod that comes off the firewall mount and connects to a special piece that fits in the big hole in the Holley linkage. Its available at any performance parts store

Thats right! Ha! I almost forgot about those... Yup, thats stock alright.

Shouldn't be a problem finding the stuff by the sounds of it.

:-B I did the same thing to my 73,I cut the rod linkeage that connects the ssnap link to the ball on the carburetor,and added a piece of rod by welding.Its worked great for ten years.If you run a c-4 transmission,your kickdown mechanism,will not be in the right place any more,Holley has a kickdown extention for six bucks that cures that.When you go two barrell to four your distances change.
