would the neutral safety switch make my truck cut off when put in Ror D and acclerate

No, the neutral safety switch interupts power to the starter relay (or solenoid, as some call it). If the starter cranks in P or N and not in other gears, then it is functioning properly.

Thanks would you have any idea what would make it cut off like that. Long as its in park it stays on soon as i put in RorD GOES RIGHT OFF.

Could be a variety of problems, the first one that comes to mind is maybe your torque convertor is screwed.

Yardape brings up a good point. Did you have any problems before the tranny swap? If not, where did the tranny come from? Do you know for a fact that it is in good working order and that everything was put back together correctly?

I don't know where I got the idea that you had swapped transmissions since you made no mention of a swap in either of your posts. Maybe I got you confused with someone else. Disregard my questions on the subject, unless of course, you did swap trannys. In which case I must have some sort of ESP powers. I guess your esp is screwed like my truck the tranny was orginal far as i now set it up for about a year drove it 2 or 3 times now all **** broke lose.
