I got a 400 m and I was thinking about putting in the 429 I have will it bult up to the tranny that is in there

from what i've read the bolt patterns are the same, both are big block trans patterns, but double checking the bolt spacing with a tape measure doesn't hurt either. another thing you need to be aware of is the pilot hole on the crankcase that the nose on the torque converter fits in, ford used a couple different sizes and you will want to be sure the are the same before trying to mash everything together.

It will fit as well as an auto. Be sure you have a 4x4pan on the motor. L&l has the bestest headers for your swap!
These motors have the same bolt patterns for the tranny as the 429/460 motors. Enjoy the imense power gain! It's awesome!!
