Hey, i have a 400m that needs to be rebuilt some day here soon, and i am trying to save enough mnoey to get it rebuild and get a cam for it now, i ahve a college budget so it's taking some time. But my questions are would it be better to rebuild it with a cam, headers, carb, and intake.... or, should i upgrade it to something else that 302, 460, straight six, what do all you bronco loving people say?

IMO it depends on what you want to do with it...how you want it to perform...how much money you really can sink into it (performance upgrades for 460's get expensive fast but they're great motors) i had a 400M in my 78 until yesterday but thats a whole other story read my thread been a while you'll see my point. the 400ms are great motors very strong great running i love mine and had no complaints about it..the downfall to them you cant wind the rpms up high quickly or safely. the 302's are great motors as well will cost you a little bit of money to put it together performance wise but not to bad...i had one in an 85 bronco with b303 cam head work exhaust intake and carb and i whooped on it every weekend extremely hard plus drove it to work everyday...it boils down to what do you want
