I recently bought a 6 inch lift online and when I received everything I noticed they sent me 4 inch coil springs. I called to make sure this was correct and they said it was. I was just wondering what is the advantage in using a 4 inch coil in a 6 inch lift.

Jeez, I don't even know *how* to answer this one :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> I would think a 6" lift would have 6" coils simple as that but I guess I'm wanting to know how/why you think you have 4" coils. Is there a tag on them or something that says "I'm a 4" coil" or do that maybe have part #'s that corrispond to the companies 4" kit ? Are you measuring them and they're 4" longer than the old coils ? If you've already called tech support and they told you that you DID in fact have the right coils for a 6" lift then to be perfectly honest with you I'd probably go on ahead and install them. If it sits WAY low in front compared to the rear then I guess that would be definative proof that someone screwed up but until then I'd take their word for it.

To answer the question *as you asked it* no, I can't imagine there's any advantage to selling a 6" lift with 4" front coils unless there was supposed to be a 2" spacer included as well and if there WAS then I'd return it and tell them I didn't want an off-road ONLY kit, but none of the mfg's I know of is irresponsible enuf to use a front spacer.

I don't want to wierd you out but if I had to guess I'd say you have the right kit and to just go on and install it. You've already spoken to them and they told you the same thing so I'd just run with it for now and see how the install goes.

Found my answer. The new extended radius arms in my kit will give me another 2 inches, this is why they use the 4 inch coils. Thanks for your reply
