In 1989 Ford never offered the 351w with the AOD trans . The Problem I have ran in to with this conversion is That the 351 w's fly wheel is offset to far back in turn this ate the pump out of a brand new trans and welded the high gear clutches together, Because it forced the torque converter in to the pump. My question is this the 302/5.0 's fly wheel has the same tooth count and diameter as the 351w's but is set aprox 60-70 thousandths further in. Will this correct the problem or do I need to go to A C6. I would like to keep the aod because of the over drive gear. Ths has been a very expensive oversight any help I thank you for..

Thats not true ford did offer the 351 with the AOD in 1989 thats exactly what mine was till I took it out and put a C6 in it . And you are corect the flywheel for an AOD is special to that tranny and C6 and E4OD share the same flywheel and to answer your other thought no you cannot use a flywheel for a 302 on a 351W well should say a 302 flywheel any newer than 75 . It is weighted different and youll have a vibration that you will never get rid of . I think I still have the flywheel from my AOD if you still need one and for that matter it doesnt have to be from an 89 can be from 86 to 91 5.8 with AOD . :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />
