I finally got my hands on a 351w block. Now, I know that most of the 302 parts (wiring and such) are the same as a 351w. I just need to replace the computer, or do I have to go a step up on that? I got the computer, I just want to know if I have to rip more wires out and in, or just a simple box change.

Also, my friend's got an F250 manual 5 speed with the 300 I6. If I were to give him my 302, would it bolt up as a small bellhousing, or is the 300's housing a beast of it's own kind?

the computer and also the wiring harness that goes on the engine is different, it will run either way, but much better with the correct parts and not lean like it would with 302 wiring

also, the 351w does not have a nock sensor where the 302 does, so you are going to hyave a plug on the back of the motor with nothing to go into it unless you change the wire harness, the flexplates are diff, the y pipe for the exhaust is wider and diff, i did this swap to my truck a while ago and its not hard as long as you get everything from a 351 truck, mine did run with the 302 wiring and pc but it was soo ******* do yourself a favor and get everything, its your best bet, and as for yourfriend, that trans will bolt right up with no problem
