5.0 swap is amazing. I can't say enough about it. You don't have to worry about going up steep inclines and having the carb load up or any problems. Minimal, but better gas mileage (about 1-2 mpg). Better power, and faster acceleration. Had I everything to do over, my list of upgrades would have gone like this:

#1 - 5.0 EFI

#2 - Power Steering

#3 - Disc Brakes F&R

#4 - Hydroboost (still coming in the next couple of weeks)

#5 - Gears & Lockers

#6 - Suspension lift

#7 - NP435 Trans

Directly in that order. As it was, I went #6, #7, #1, #3 (front only), #2, #3 (rears), #5, #4 and wished I had done otherwise.

Try pushing upwards to $1100-1200 for that complete kit. The other problem is that you don't know what the MC/hydroboost unit is off of and it is completely over priced. I bought a junkyard MC/HB unit with prop valve, hoses & MC to prop valve lines for $23. All I have to do is have the lines remade for the HB unit to PS box, which will be less than $150 for braided stainless flex lines. So in all, I will have less than $200 in my HB set up.

I got mine off of a '90 Astro Van. You can use 90 through 94 I think. Just get the one with the flat firewall mounting bracket. Some of them have an angled bracket that points them down, so stay away from that. Depending on if you have EFI or other components on there, you have to flip the HB unit upside down with the MC staying right side up. That gets the PS fluid resivoir out of the way of the engine/carb area. If I can get some time here in the next couple of weeks, I am gonna get mine finished. Just hard to do when it is your daily driver. When I do get it done though, I will do a write up on it with pictures for you guys.
