Anyone have a good schematic and maybe a troubleshooting chart for P0500 code?Checked all fuses and relays good. Replaced Vss in rear diff. Abs yellow lamp stays on and hard shifting. Speedometer and tachometer are both working. Overdrive lamp on shifter begins to flash after first initial hard shift. Tried jumping pins 14 to 21 and 22 to 39 at abs module harness side as I saw in another post. Cleared code with scanner but abs lamp stayed on.
Test drive and hard shifting was still present with wires jumped and overdrive lamp began flashing again.
Wiring from vss to 4wabs I feel is ok since speedometer is working.
Any suggestions.
Thanks

Sounds like if the speedo is working the problem is between the head and the pcm.

Found this if it makes any sense, gives a couple wires to test.

Do you have the overhead temp display? Does it work? Seems like it is tied into the VSS as well.

1. Speedometer head.
2. Poor ground at Powertrain Control Module (PCM) pin 33. Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) signal circuit problem between cluster and Powertrain Control Module (PCM) pin 58.

The Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) located in the rear axle produces a Analog Current (AC) sign wave signal which is sent to the Antilock Brake System (ABS) module and the speedometer head. The speedometer head transforms the sign wave signal into a square wave signal and sends it on to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) and the speed control servo. Since the Antilock Brake System (ABS) light is not illuminated and the speedometer is not erratic, the signal produced by the speed sensor is okay.

Check Powertrain Control Module (PCM) pin 33 to verify it is getting a good ground. Check the GY/BK wire at Powertrain Control Module (PCM) pin 58 for an Analog Current (AC) square-wave signal when driving.
