Hi everyone. This is my first post to this forum;I've been reading through the info related to Broncos that members posted and i've been learning a lot. I've got my "first" 1986 XLT Bronco about two months ago. It's been seating on the edge of a private road for about 10 years ...I got it for $100 so even if it is in bad shape, after inspecting the frame (which is in very good condition) I decided together with my son to start restoring her ...Its windshield is broken and both windows on passenger side are broken as well; still it has managed to survive in the NW rain and snow for years. A few trips to the auto wreck fields helped me to find the topper window and I've purchased the passenger door window from the LMC Truck. It has a 351W engine, C6 tranny and a Holley 4BBL carburetor. Some engine hoses are missing. We know that it will require a lot of work and $$ but are we excited to start this journey and hopefully give her a new life...

It will take a while but we'll get there. My son even bought an Edelbrock 1906 carburetor to replace the existing one but even if the engine has only 65k still needs to carefully be inspected and cleaned.Lots of fun work is coming into our way...

Emelio,

We have virtually the same exact truck, mine is the same exact interior/exterior, same age, but different motor and trans, I've got the 302 EFI w/ manual trans. Anyway it kinda shocked me to see it as I am new here as well. Here are some photos of mine. Awesome buy you got there for 100 bucks I paid a lot more for this one! lol

In comparison with my Bronco your truck interior looks great and I assume that its engine works. On mine the headliner is completely gone ,some components in the engine bay were missing, (AC compressor, air cleaner ) and the smog components and hoses were removed and thrown inside the truck...It came with 2 windows broken including the windshield. Basically I do not know the condition of the engine- I have removed all the interior carpets and started buying parts for the engine and heating-cooling system that we intend to replace anyway. I plan to pull the engine out but I do not have a garage so I must wait until it gets warmer outside. Its paint is in good condition for a car abandoned for 10 years but we plan to repaint it anyway...
We prefer to install the original air cleaner but they are hard to find but I think that other Ford models used the same air cleaner so we hope that a junk yard might help in that respect...
