since the parts listed above were replaced, the truck is making a faint whine/squeal sound while it’s running, and it will go away when I let off the gas if i’m going fast enough , like 35 40 mph. any ideas? is my belt just so brand spanking new that it quite literally squeaks?

I think the steering difficulty was due to to the belt coming off. I was still able to turn 90°, it was just very tough to do. And I think some of what you listed is what my mechanic tackled. the receipt lists : water pump, lower oil cooler , radiator hose, belt, hose clamps, antifreeze.

turns out it was just the water pump. said I got lucky since some hoses were just hanging somewhere it sounded like. guess that’s how there was a total dumping of my antifreeze. but ya, was gonna be $250 but he went ahead and replaced other parts within coolant system so it came out to $470...
