well as any other older bronco i have a tad bit of fender well rust on the rear quarter panels. i want to cut the rust completely out. instead of bondo and all that junk. and after that i would like to buy a 2'' body lift . i have stock with 33s now. dont have alot of money so i cant be buying susp. lifts and such. so should i do it?

any problems with the 2'' body lift or cutting the wells?

anyone have any pictures

i like to steer away from body lifts whenever possible. while body lifts are cheaper there are alot of things to consider. you are lifting the body higher on the frame so your motor, radiator bumpers etc are not moving, just the body. if you have a manual that means your shifter will sit lower. your messing with your steering angles from your wheel to your gear box. If your only looking at 2" you can get coil spacers or taller coils and add-a-leafs for around $200. as long as you get camber bushings to fix your front end alignment you should be good.

That being said your running 33s now and your cutting your fenders, why do you need a lift?

well i have installed a 3'' body lift on a buddys 99 nissan frontier and it took 2 days and alot of work. we had to lower the radiator, extend the fuel filler hose, extend every single wire, extend the steering fluid resivior and much more

for a bronco it is much simpler. the instruction book is like 1/3 of the nissan book. all u gotta do is slapp the blocks under it and bolt em down and oput in a steering ext. and thats it.

thats why i wana go with a body lift. i aint gona be doin nuthin real major, muddin wise. just holes here and there.

dude ive looked at those fender flares and they are like 200 a piece. no joke. its either 200 a pair of 2 or a piece. thats the reason its better to just cut them out.

here is a pic of an 89 with a 3" body lift(and 6" suspension) see the gap between the bumper and the header panel below the grill

now your front end is a bit different than the 89 but i think it will still look the same.

what i was getting at is if you are cutting your fenders there should be no clearance issue with the 33's, except maybe the back of your bumper, which the body lift wont help. Your axles and drive train will be in the same place so you wont get more clearance to go in any deeper holes. If all you want to run is the 33s i wouldnt waste your time unless there something else you have in mind.

and the cutout flares are roughly $400 for the whole truck and they add 2" of width to each side, so unless you have large(wide) tires they might look a bit funny. But they look a million times better than just cutout fenders.

Well ive thrown out a few reasons for you not to do it and you seem to have the kit you want and your mind set so it looks like you answered your own question. If you do a shackle flip in the rear you can get 2" coil for the same price and pull out your bottom leaf spring then you have 2-3" lift on the suspension.
