Hey fellows and ladies, just picked up my full size soft top yesterday for $500. Seems a little high but the thing is in damn near brand new shape! No instructions though so i'll have to wing it a bit. It's tan but the dang thing has clear windows. Can I tint those just like regular windows or do they make something specific for them? Just had to share!

Congrats Bidi... I know you've been wanting one for a while.

Why don't you post a pic when you get it on?

bidi, that is great news!! Is it a STC snap top or the later fast-track version? I have the instruction sheet for a snap top I will send you or scan and post if you need.

I found this site that details the install of a fast-track snapless install. http://wt4x4.net/tech/softtop2.htm

As for the tinting you could call a tinting place and ask what they have, I ain't finding anything positive on Google.

Just in time for spring time congrats again!

UPDATE:

Here are the stc (in .pdf) sheets for snap top

I'm super jealous. I am still without one. I'm waiting it out some more and hoping I find one. I really want the full STC top a lot more than the fast back. Congrats Bidi you deserve it.

I was going to get it done this weekend but yesterday with a 100+ temp and today finally feeling a little better (but I doubt wife will let me) It'll have to wait agian. If it's a nicer day today then tomorrow I may just go do it. I'll keep a bottle of water with me and sweat this crap out. Man, I hate being sick. The only good thing is my ears are a bit plugged so I don't have to hear the wife bitch at me for this or for that....

Thanks for the instructions, it's the snap style but it's better than lugging that heavy SOB on and off all the time.

Ahhhh, bl*w me. Great news is when *I* scoop a nice soft-top.

Is it a square-back or fastback ? For the price I have to assume it's a traditional squareback top since a brand-new fastback only runs $350-$400.

As for the ******** wife, well, that's what the back of your hand is for isn't it ? To wipe the sweat off your brow and say "yes, dear. You're right, whatever you want. Would you like some ice cream ?"

It's the full size square back as you call it. And yeah, that has to be what the back of the hand is for. Yesterday was all crappy outside and it's supposed to be like that all week. Not to mention I can't seem to brake this fever and now I'm at work so it's going to be a miserable day.

WOO HOO! Feeling better today but the weather here is still crappy. I'm going to attempt it this weekend but I have a list of crap that needs to be done. Fixing brakes on the ******, found out I have a bast booster! Great fun that is, and after that I have to find a spot to stash my hard top but I have a buddy that needs some work done on a 9X van so I'll make him a deal of fixing his problem if he'll help me out. Now, with the snap style top if I want to put the hard top back on can I just take off the "structure bars" and put the top back on or do I need to take the whole thing off? I'll have to get it back to WA some how?

They are out of business to the best of my knowledge. All emails and anything that has been sent to the company has gone unresponded for quite some time. I emailed them when i first got my truck and never heard from them.

Silly boys :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> Skyler went belly-up LONG ago. Once again let it be said & understood that there is ONE company and ONLY one company currently making soft-tops for Broncos. Soft-tops.com is THE only game in town. Do yourself a favor & read thru the archives for the past several years. Once more for those who missed it the first time around, if you want a brand-new soft-top for your Bronco than the ONLY deal is to get a fastback-type top from these guys. That's it. Other than Soft-tops.com there's nothing. Zero, Nada, Zilch, Nothing. You quite simply *cannot* buy ANY new softtop from ANY company other than soft-tops.com. **** & moan all you want but that's it, you have one choice & one choice only. There is no-one (and that's No-one with a capital "N") currently selling ANY sort of sort-top for the 78-96 Bronco OTHER than the fastback sold by soft-tops.com. That's it, game over. If you want something brand new then they're the ONLY game in town. You can always ck Ebay & Craigslist because a lot of guys have scored older tops there but for something new you have one choice and ONLY one choice. Sorry, but that's just the way it is.

for $399

The only other option beside watching Ebay & Craigslist will be to contact local convertable/boat shops and ask about having a custom top fabricated. Depending on what you want it'll probably run pretty close to what the original square-tops cost (around $500). Think what you will but local boatshops can do a pretty good job for reasonable money depending on what time in the season you hit them up.

I wish I would have bought one of them tops ten years ago when I had my first Bronco. Hind sight stinks.
