idle issue

hi i am in desperate need of some help of this idle issue with my 1990 ford bronco xlt, it is idling up and down repeadetly all the time but some times it runs perfect and some times not and while i am driving it starts sputtering till you punch the gas and it clears it self out but like i said dosent do it all the time i have replaced idle air control vavle and throttle positioning sensor just wondering if anyone else has had this issue if so could you lead me in the right direction and e mail me at [email protected] thank you very much

Have you checked for a cracked or broken vacum hose. I had this on my 1990 bronco. It had so idleing problems until a found the hose broke

if it was a broken vacuum hose i think it would do it all the time and yes i have looked coundnt find any thanks though

I agree.. a surgeing idle is a classic sign of a vacuum leak.

You should check for diagnostic codes, if you havn't already.

An O2 sensor could be at fault also, if it is bad it will usually throw a code.
