Ok Let me explain, The switch works great, The issue is is the crome "cover" the crome piece with the thumb & finger tabs, it flops all over you can spin in around and around or it just falls off. How does one get it to stay on where it belongs? I could leave it off I suppose but I was told all a person has to do is stick something in the switch and there off with my ride.

It's easier than that :-" Anyone who knows how that thing functions could hot wire it without sticking anything in the switch  /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> .

That part is press fit on to the end of the key cylinder. It's function is not to prevent something from being inserted into the switch but to keep you from breaking off the key by giving you a place to turn it without putting pressure on the key. Probably someone broke it by trying to turn the cylinder without the key in it. If you want that on there then you need to replace the cylinder, (not a hard job as long as you have the key).

good luck,

Ain't that the truth ? You can pretty much do it w/a screwdriver & paperclip and you don't need the screwdriver if the door's unlocked :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> The EB's & 78/79's are even *easier*, what a freaking shame. A **** switch & LoJack is the way to go but for GOODNESS sake please TELL the next owner about the **** switch, I don't know HOW many cars & trucks I've seen stalling right out of the blue with ancient **** switches that nobody knew about tucked up under the dash. Great when *you* own it, bad juju for the next few guys.
