Has anyone tried the Holley Truck Avenger Carb. Does it work in off camber situations, and overall is it a good carb. I am thinking about getting one when I do my V8 conversion.

The Truck avenger was designed with steep hills and off camber situations in mind, It is supposed to be the best carb currently available for offroading

I personally don't trust anything Holley makes for offroad. I have used two different Holley carbs, though not the TA, and both of them crapped out on me on steep inclines, one almost caused me to roll because it loaded up & died when I needed it the most. . About the only good thing I have to say about Holley is that they are a helluva street carb.

I was able to pick one up for $200.00. Half the price of new so I guess I will give it a shot. Guess I'll see how it works.

I've been running one since they first came out, replaced an Eldebrok with it. I've had great luck. For daily driving the engine starts easy and runs great. Off road it has never skipped a beat. The only thing that would be better is EFI, but I like the simplicity of a carb.

I've heard of others having problems, but mine has been great.

Well hopefully the one i'm putting on runs as good as yours. I would like to go EFI, but my pockets are not that deep.

I've always been a Holley carb man, and currently have a 770cfm Truck Avenger carb on my 460. I can say it's much better than a HLY 4160 or any regular street carb in being able to handle inclines. I think they run about $420 new, so $200 is a great deal for any carb. My experience with Holley's is that they may need more intiial tuning than other brands, but once dialed in will work great. IF you have any problems, Holley has a great tech line to help you. JSM84

I was always an Edelbrock man untill last year I swapped a buddy of mine for his Holley Avenger, and to say the least, the little extra maitainance it takes to run the Holley is well worth the payoff.

I heard from somewhere that people were having problems with the TA. There was a time frame where they came with some parts put in upside down. Has anyone heard of this.
