OK, here's the quick sob story...I pulled my motor took it down to the machine shop, had to have it bored .040 over due to Prev. owners ream job, replaced one cracked head, new pistons, bearings, etc. motor is done. My service van for work was robbed in my own driveway, bastards stole ALL my tools. Company is self insured so they didnt replace any of my stuff and I technically rent my house and didnt have a renters policy. so $$ I had set aside for the motor went to replacing tools so I could keep my job. Machine shop has since sold my motor for cost of work(it has been 2 months). Now I am debating what to do with the truck, and have considered the 5.0 mustang conversion, with (or without) EFI. Whcih to you think is the better way to go? And I'm sure Bully or 76 Explorer or Broncoholic has a link to a tech page. If one of you could let me know I'd appreciate it. Thanks

Hi I'd call a lawyer 2 months seams kind of short. Most machanic's leans take awhile. Why was he in a hurry to sell your motor? How much was he charging for the rebuild? I know how it is I had my tools ripped off too. The cops didn't really care and didn't go after the guy. Good Luck!

You can get a junk yard motor for a fairly reasonable price, but when you do, get the entire EFI system. Engine, EFI wiring harness, plenum, fuel rails, fuel pump, heads, intake...ect. Then if you have questions or run into trouble, you can contact Ryan McCormick, he owns http://www.fordfuelinjection.com and I am sure he would be willing to answer questions for you if you have them. Ryan is an EB guy and makes his own EFI harnesses.

Thank you, guys....I did plan to do the junkyard motor from a 5.0 mustang, I just didnt know how much more beyond the motor & brain....I did send an email to Ryan, and thank you S bolt for the mention of an efi wiring harness......I wasnt sure, as to how the new centech harness on my bench would tie in
