I owned a 1973 red Bronco when I went to college in SF. Bought it new but sold it went gas prices went too high. I'd imagine an old story.

So, here I am considering buying a new one c/o eBay ad. I've done some general research on longevity but there is a 1971 for sale in my neighborhood that i just can't value. Its rebuilt, new engine etc. Is this possibly worth $20K; $23K? Thanks for any smart guidance.

Hi.., welcome..!!

Very pretty..!!

The outside is excellent OK..., HOWEVER.., IMHO it goes downhill fr. there.

There appears to be toooooo much rust on the underside. Even the back side of the wheels, drums, etc.

A lot of attention to the cosmetics but not much to the important things.

Old school dual shocks on front. Shock shaft extensions..?? Front axle u-joints look orig., as do the ball joints. Home made oil pan..?? (just to name a few.)

I would look & test &/or have a seasoned mech. check out the vitals.

I see nothing magical there to make it worth that kind of $$$$$ [-X

---SORRY--- :( /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

P.S. not that it couldn't be cleaned up (under carriage) & pics sometimes make it look worse than it is....the mechanical care is of importance. Eng. looks good., but a compression test would be a must. If eng. was rebuilt., it was a while back. Header bolts & headers look ancient. (re-click on the eng. pics to get close-up view of things) Eng. cooling has to be spot-on with a 351. Brake lines look close to headers., appears to be some leaks..., just several little things that don't seem right for that kind of $$$

P.S.S. It's not orig. paint...front fender flairs are welded (homemade). Pretty sure I'm seeing the welds on the right front.

Again., IMHO.., It's sad to see folks try to make a ****'n on an average to below average rig. (The more you look at the pics., the more you'll find)
