i was junking this week and found what i thought may be a rare item ina 79 4wd. it was a factory looing fog light bracket and switch. the wire went throught the firewall factory groumet. and hooked up to a junction block on the dirvers side top of the firewall/cowl are. that wire lead directly to the starter relay on the fender well. it also had a factory **** on it. just liek the heater has on all the 73-79 trucks and broncos. so is this a rare item?

this same truck also had another under dahs swithc on the middle / passenger side. i think it said lock in the light. i couldnt read it very well. it is still in the truck. is it a rare item also? is it worth getting?

I'm not sure about the fog light switch, but the lock light you found came on all wheel drive broncos if you put the 4 wheel drive shifter into 4 hi lock, that light will light up. I don't believe it came on the 2 wheel/ 4 wheel drive broncos

so the lock light would be transmission dependant wouldnt it?

Okay, can somebody explain to me how this part time AWD system works in these trucks? I have heard about them, but my brother and I cant figure out any advantage to them. Also is there any way to adapt one of these lights to a bronco that is just a 4x4? I would like to have a light like that in my truck so that IF somebody HAS to drive my truck in 4wd they can know when they take it out of 4wd
