heres the story, just picked up a new bronco, the previous owner has the ignition wired to where when you touch the + cable from the starter solenoid to the battery the motor turns over no matter what position the key is in and theres no way to stop the starter from turning without disconnecting the battery. Anyone know how I can fix this problem? Im no good with the electrical work

Hi Green.., welcome...,

Let's hope he didn't do that on purpose.

Remove the two wires that attach to the solenoid ... if it still does this., the solenoid is bad/frozen/stuck in full connection.

Being it's bad...you can't hurt it so you could tap/wack it with a screwdriver handle to see if it will pop loose. (even so., it would still need repl.)

IF it doesn't crank with the two wires off....put them back, one or the other to see which one is "hot"

Who knows.., in this case, maybe he put in a aux. start switch somewhere due to a bad key switch.

Anyway., try that & get back..... :-B
