Has anyone here changed the motor out on a 92-96 ( I have a 93) Bronco? I was experiencing some bad luck with the power windows. First to go was the passenger side, first was a "clunk" followed by the window only going down, but when you try to bring it up it would move a half inch, moan and fall back to the original position. So I purchased another window motor and follower from a junk yard, "guarenteed to work"! Of course I just spent the past 2 hours putting the sucker in, and it does the same thing.... Does anyone think this could be either A) impossibly bad luck on my part, or B) there is another problem besies the motor and I am just too stupid to figure it out? Any comments, suggestions and or advice will be appreciated. Until further notice I will be drinking Captain Morgan in my back yard... thanks, B-Cack

Does anyone know what this part used to be? I was having trouble with my power windows on the 93 Bronco, would roll down fine but would not go up, I finally got the thing out of the door, (long story much alcohol consumed) and opened up the motor to find this mess inside. (see pic below) I think it used to be some kind of plastic/rubber part that helped the gear move, any ideas? Thanks, Jeff

It looks like the remains of the piece that holds the gear in place. I looked at my parts catalog and it shows a plastic piece that is shaped like and has holes that align with the opening where the gear goes. It may have gotten chewed up by the regulator gears grinding on it. Perhaps the regulator mounting is not right or it is bad.

Good luck,

:)>-

Ahhhh, yeah I looked at some parts online too, I only found one that might work... I might have to cruise down to Advanced Auto to check it out. I wish the driver side window worked, I would take it apart to see what a good one looked like but the damn thing went **** up three days ago! I now have 3 window motors/regulators that don't work... hopefully I can get it fixed and not have to open the damn door everytime I go on post!

I had that mess with the back window of my 91 about 3 yrs ago. Pick up the gears from the Ford dealer for what I remember was a reasonable cost.

just did this on my BII the other day. the yellow stuff is whats left of the little rubber discs that are supposed to fit in between the lobes of the gear and the lobes of the motor. they are about 1/2" in diameter. check to make sure the window is not binding, do not try to put anything metal in place of the rubber this will cause the nylon gear to break! (more probs)

Yup, found them at Advanced Auto for 30 bucks! It comes with the three round parts as well as the nylon gear which fits in the worm gear. I am amazed that they can charge 30 bucks for some cheap plastic.... of course I am not going to mold my own anytime soon, so *** right! Thanks for confirming this for me.
