If it is a daily driver i would stick with the OD tranny. C6 is strong and reliable, but has no OD, so gas mileage will suffer

Justbust1n what year is your truck ? The AODE is not for full size trucks it is for rear wheel drive cars such as the mustang . All of the OD trannies are 4 speed only for the years were dealing with . You have the option of an AOD which is a mechanically controlled 4 speed and after 1991 there is the E4OD which is an electronically controlled 4 speed tranny , The E4OD shares allot of the same internal parts as a C6 so it is very strong models after 1995 have all the updates in them and are cheaper usually to have rebuilt due to not having to do all the updates . The E4OD requires a computer or a stand alone controller no option there the AOD just has a cable that gose up to the throttle body and has to be set at a certain tension so that the pressures will be correct in the tranny for it to operate if this is set wrong the tranny will burn up . If your looking for the unltimate in gas milage from your bronco then a newer 5 speed manual trans is what you would want no wasted power running the hydraulic pump no internal clutches to slip just a direct connection when you let off the clutch :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

i thought had a AODE but my bronco is a 1994 , i am probally wrong nown and dont know whats really in it ... i looked it up and matched the pattern of the transmission pan gasket to a AODE which was in another post thought is was a AODE i just want the most bang for my buck !!! i am probably going to buy the bronco in question just for the 8.8 rear end and the front end and just think about putting in the c6 , i just wanted to know how many mods i would need , if it would be to much to worry about and if it was worth it but more and more people are tellin me not to because i drive it everyday
