Which position is 4LO/4HI

I just want to clarify the shift pattern on my 72 Bronco. My dad hasn't owned one in 15 years and he can't remember. I thought all the way forward was 4LO, pull back 1 time for Neutral, pull back 1 more time for 2High and finally 1 more pull back is 4High. Then again, this truck is 7 years older than I am so I have no clue. Somebody clear this up for me without calling me a jack***. Much appreciated. P.S. The truck is getting a few items tuned up so I can't figure it out on my own, I haven't even driven it yet, so there is my defense!!!

You got it... there always seems to be a few extra notches along the way ....

With trannie in gear find neutral in transfer (clutch out, no go) ....one click back is 2wd high (or as soon as it engages).

From 4wd low,...it might feel like two clicks back to get to neutral.

Assuming you have the "T" shifter style. The "J" shifter is a bit more goofy.

If your linkage is a little "sloppy" you may find a fifth position....

My 69 will pull into 2 low with the hubs locked....
