Where is my engine block #?

I need to find out where my engine number is so i know what year it is. Ive looked all over the engine and i cant find it. If anybody knows where it is that would be a big help thanks

Right rear of block, just below the cyl head, and almost behind the starter

(for the V-8)

will i have to take my starter out to see it?

If you squint just right and hold your tounge just like that....

no.

It can be difficult to see, especially if you dont have a body lift.

If you look between the frame and the inner fender at the block, you may just be able to see it.

It may be easier to use a mirror and trouble/ flashlight...
