Almost ready to install these on both sides after replacing quarters.

Anybody done this?

Bought the splash shields from LMC and they came exactly as in the catalog. The problem is that they have these tabs along the side that runs along the wheel well opening and stop them from being able to fit. I’m thinking they need to be trimmed off but why would they be there in the first place? Don’t want to cut and find out there was a reason….

Also the wheelhouses have three ‘bumps’ along the edge that rides inside the quarter just above the wheel opening lip. Wondering if these were ever spot welded through the outside of the quarter in these three places or just along the opening ******.

Anybody?

Thanks!

Howdy there,
You could always just bend/fold the tab out of the way & see how that goes. As such, youd have a way back 'out of the corner' should that material end up being needed.
Far as that other goes- 🤷‍♂️
Body work is not my forté.
Good luck👍

I was thinking about trying to bend it but it really looks like the rest of the shape may have to be trimmed too. I’ve got to find a 78-9 Bronco or pickup and see what the original setup looked like. Anything 78-9 still rocking original splash shields may be few and far between tho…..
