With tires that big, you are going to need a lot of lift. I don't have personal experience with that type of project but I did a lot of research before deciding that, for my purposes, a 6" supsension lift and 35" tires is the way I will go when I get to that point.
Here is what I've learned:
1) For those tires you will need 8 or 9 inches of lift and will probably have to trim the fenders/front bumper. Here is a link to
some more info
2) If you go with more than 6" suspension lift, you will likely need to lengthen driveshafts and brake lines. The front pinion angle may also become an issue.
3) With body lift there are some things that you must not overlook. Since the engine, steering gear box, bumpers, etc. are mounted on the frame and the stearing wheel, radiator, and fan shroud are mounted to the body, adjustments will need to be made.
4) For the application you describe, you will probably need a combination of at least two of the above (body, suspension, or trimming) to get the look you are after.
5) One last thing, if you do decide to take it wheelin', those monster tires will be putting a lot of strain on your stock Dana 44 TTB, and Ford 8.8" axles.
Like I said at the begining I have not done this myself and I may have left something out. I would suggest that you look through the
Broncozone Gallery or the
Supermotors gallery, or
Readers Rides at Jeffs Bronco Graveyard and when you see what you are looking for, send a message to the owner and ask how they did it. You will find that Bronco owners love to brag about their rides and how they built them.
Edit:
After reading this I think it may sound like I'm trying to discourage you. That is most certainly not the case. With some hard work and good old American ingenuity, anything is possible. (or Canadian; I would never leave you guys out, Yardape!) Good luck on your project, and don't forget to keep us posted on progress. We love to look at pictures!
