Hi All,

Just curious. I had my very strong running 351W pulled out of my 1992 Bronco when it got rear ended. It had 89000 miles and was the BEST thing about that Bronco. I'm curious as to what it is worth and would appreciate opnions. A firend of mine bought my intakes and valve covers so the engine is complete from the pan up minus the intakes and valve covers.

Thanks

Lee

Hey maddog. Yeah this thing was the ONLY thing I kept out of that whole truck. It ran pretty strong and I hated to just throw it away with the truck being totaled. Thanks for your opinion man. I appreciate it.

To be honest it's going to be worth whatever someone is willing to pay and I probably wouldn't pay a penny more than $200 for one like that. It'a a 90K partial engine that's been canibalized. There's absolutely no way to hear it run and *every* single guy out there selling an engine will tell you that it ran great and pulled hard right up till the day it was removed. You *might* find someone willing to pay $500 for an engine that's a complete unknown but unless he has another one sitting around he'll have to drop some significant coinage on the new intakes & valve covers. It's just not worth it, I can go to my local junkyard and pay $500 for a *complete* engine (and I mean complete, everything there from intake to oil pan & fan to flywheel, all the sensors, the harness and the processor) and they'll guarantee it for 90 days. Quite frankly what you now have is really just a rebuildable core.

I picked up my last long block from the salvage yard for $102 and that was complete like broncobill had said. Fan to flex plate, intake to oil pan. Even though it was 50% off day that still puts me at $204 on a regular basis. All I wanted was a "rebuildable" engine and that's what I had gotten. Machine shop seems to think it didn't have many miles on it due to the "condition of the block and crank."

Thanks for your opinion. As a core, I was offered 300 for it so I'm sure I can get a bit more since it is a running engine. It's on ebay right now and my feedback there is 99.8 percent so credibility is hopefully not an issue.

Well, to be more precise it *was* a running engine :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> It needs to be complete to run & without valve covers, an intake of *some* sort & a distributor it's not a running engine it's more of a "not siezed & mostly there" engine, more commonly refered to as a long block.. But hey, if you can get that much for it more power to ya. Ebay's definately the place to unload it (might want to edit the description if you *do* have the dizzy), millions of people visit the site & PT Barnum's famous quote comes to mind (actually PT never did say that, a competitor did but it's a funny story & obscure piece of trivia for those who look it up). Best of luck w/the sale.
