I know I haven't been here for awhile but things have been a little on the busy side. Anyways, the Bronco is out of commission for a while. I went on vacation for 12 days and left the Bronco in the driveway. I got back and when I started her up she held almost 2 grand in park and neutral. Reverse and Drive were normal. Boyfriend was at work so I called and asked about it. He said as long as I didn't leave it in park very long before shutting it off, I should be fine. That day I was. The next day, he was outside messing with it. He was revving it up under the hood and the water pump practically exploded. (thank god it didn't **** the brand new rad we put in - I would have been ******) Destroyed the water pump, fan hub and the timing cover. Good thing I wasn't driving when it happened. So over to the garage we went, only to discover we needed a new transmission module, a thermostat and about 10 feet of vacuum line. So while she's down, we are pulling the motor, replacing the oil pan gasket and replacing the trans. Luckily I have another C6 laying around. How long this will take I have no idea. Perhaps it will go rather quickly so my boyfriend can have his truck back :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Has anyone ever heard of the water pump going like this? No one around here has..... we would be interested....

Thanks guys!

i never have heard of a pump exploding haha, thats some crazy stuff, and to answer how long it will take, me personally could swap a motor and trans in a weekend and have everything replaced and driving, thats taking my time and doing everything right. So mostly depends how mechanically inclined he is, the trans should be the easiest part, just a word of advice, while u have the motor out and the pan off to replace the gasket, i would replace the oil pump and timing chain as well, just for piece of mind and because they are fairly cheap parts and are right there anyway, hey and why your at it, throw some headders on er :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> good luck

Yeah I know we could do it in a weekend but it's MY bronco, not HIS truck! LOL So it's not high on the list of priority's.... =) Just kidding. Well sorta.

Thanks for the advice about replacing the oil pump and timing chain. And about the headers - we have never had good luck with headers. They always end up leaking. So I don't think we'll being going that direction. =)
