Hello All,

I got water in my transmission this weekend and my C6 isnt working like it should. I flushed about 12 quarts of clean trans fluid through the transmission but are still having issues (12 quarts of type F is all that the automotive had where I was wheelin).

The transmission seems to shift fairly well if I manually shift from 1st to drive. Once at speed it runs fine. The transmission will not downshift though, once in drive (3rd) you can stop and it will stay in drive gear (3rd).

Has anybody ran into this problem before or have any suggestions. I dont think that I have all the bad fluid out, do you think a simple flush and fresh fluid will fix things or am I looking at a rebuild?

Thank you

A complete flush via a dealer or a qualified shop would seem to be in order. (That would include what is in the torque converter.)

I think it takes 15-16 qts.

Then..., a determination can be made.
