vacuum lines

:unsureOk,i got rid of the stock airfilter housing should i plug the extra lines up and also,there was a rubber hose that came out of left back valve cover that also hooked to the stock airfilterwhitch had its own little filter,im installing a open faced airfilter,just not sure what to do.

Yes, if you remove something that had vacuum lines going to it you should plug them instead of leaving them open to atmosphere. The hose from the valve cover was there to recirculate the crankcase vapors into the carb. You should go to the speed shop & get a small plug-in breather to replace that hose with (meaning remove it from the valve cover & in it's place you should install the breather element into the valve cover, this will allow the vapors out & trap the oil in them. Every now & then the breather will get saturated w/trapped oil & you'll need a new one but they aren't very expensive and it takes quite awhile to saturate (unless you have bad valve seals)

Plug any lines that went to the old air filter housing or you will be having problems caused by loss of vacuum. They operated the vacuum motor to regulate between outside cold air and air off the manifold or a mix of both. Depending on where you live, that may cause you a minor problem of needing to warm the engine up before moving it.

You can get a small filter cap to put in place of the hose into the valve cover. You need that to supply air for the PCV system.
