I just bought my fist bronco and it is a 78. It is in good shape the only thing that i can see wrong is that it has a little underbody rust. I have been told that if i scrape it off w/ a wire brush or wire wheel and put a coat of primer then paint that it would help this problem. Does anyone see where this could be a bad idea?

You got it...!

Power-washers help as well.

There's rust stoppers out there that stop the rust fr. migrating...I used "Rust Mortician" which seemed to work well.

POR-15 makes the same claim.

Welcome to Bronco Zone, Andy!!! Light sanding or a wire brush should remove any surface rust. I like to use a rust converter like OSPHO to neutralize any rust before primer.
