Yes & maybe. The AOD is a straight mechanical OD transmission (it's basically a 2nd generation C6) and it will work just fine behind pretty much any engine you care to bolt it to. The problems will come from the fact the the E4OD is controlled by the engine processor. Never having done this particular swap I'm not sure exactly what will happen. At best the MIL will illuminate & stay on all the time because because it can't talk to the transmission and that will upset it greatly. Now maybe it will just sulk & keep the illuminating the MIL or maybe it will get *real* concerned about the health of a transmission that can't talk to it and it will ***** around with engine settings and maybe default into "limp home" mode thinking there's been a mechanical failure in the tranny. I'm not really sure & hopefully one of the Mods who knows or Miesk5 will have something more definate to say. I would *think* the processor will just fire off the MIL and that will be that. You'll have to get used to looking at it and will have to manually ck for codes from time to time since you won't know if the processor has thrown a legimate engine ralated code at you but other than that I'd expect it will run just fine.

Check with www.fordfuelinjection.com or Miesk5's Homepage (link in tech articles forum) for info on swapping the trans and the ECM or computer. BB78 is correct, the AOD is not ECM-controlled, but it will bolt up to the 94 V8 engine. Remeber, too, that you'll need to change the t-case shifter linkage to the one used on the AOD, JSM84
