I have recently run across an AOD from a 1988 F250 NON-superduty 4x4 with a small black v-8.
Question 1:
Since this tranny is off of a 3/4 ton truck, should I expect it to be different that the ones that went into and F150/bronco? My first instinct says no becasue it would be expensive to have totally different running gear for similar truck models, but you never know what case differences there might be.
Question 2:
If we are looking at a standard AOD, can I use the existing flywheel/torque converter combo on my small block v8/C6 with the AOD. What differences would there be in torque converters?
Question 3:
Since my stock transmission mouting bracket is adjuastable, and '88 Broncos can with both a C6 and AOD, it should adjust to fit, correct? I believe that I would need a new bracket with a manual du to the smaller size.
Any thoughts or knowledge on the subject would be appreciated.
